| Essential Advice & Tips to make sure your holiday is a pleasant one. |
| Always arrive at the departure point early, other
people get annoyed when waiting for late comers. We will depart at the schedule
time and if you are late you will have to rondevous with us later. A mobile
phone number will be given to you which can be used whilst the tour leader is
riding, and you can liase with him on route. Make sure you have a full tank and
an empty bladder before departure. We have to travel as near to our timed
schedule as possible. We will make fuel stops according to the bike wich has
the least tank capacity, it is recommended everyone fills up at the same time
even if you have half a tank left. On our guided tours the departure time will be as stated, again people are not prepared to wait for late comers, and this just causes problems. We will assume you are not joining in the guided tour if you are not there at departure time. It is essential that you have breakdown cover either UK or Europe depending on the tour you are on. Although we will do our best to help, we cannot be responsible for breakdowns, the rest of the group needs to continue, and you will be responsible for the recovery of your motorcycle. It is essential that you use Ultraseal in your tyres, punctures can cause hours of delays to the group, again waiting for breakdown to replace/repair tyres could be from 1 hour to a couple of days. Ultraseal will take the worry from that scenario. We have used it for years and we know it works, we can't recommend this highly enough. (see the links & shop pages for more details) If travelling to Europe it is a legal requirement to carry with you the following original documents V5 log book, Driving Licence, Valid Insurance stating European Cover, MOT Certificate if required. It is also a legal requirement to carry a bulb kit (available from the shop page) and to have GB stickers displayed on the bike. It is essential to obtain proper holiday insurance which covers the use of motorcycles. Carol Nash do one for about £40 for two people. It is not worth going abroad without it. The risks are far too great. Hospital bills can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds, be warned. You should also obtain E111 forms from the Post Office which allows us to use health care in European Countries through our National Health Scheme. Note: this is not a replacement for holiday insurance. If you are new to touring and need to ask us a question, no matter how trivial you think it is, don't hesitate to ring Graham and ask his advice. |
